Flight curriculum.
Our Program is based on flight curriculum which is specially developed by MacEwan University and Government of Alberta.
The philosophy of Little Wonders Child Development Centre aligns perfectly with The Flight Framework, Alberta’s early learning and child care framework. Both focus on nurturing the child through play-based, inclusive learning. This nurturing environment supports children’s growth and development, providing our young learners a sense of security and well-being.
One of the core aspects of the Flight Framework highlights holistic child development, recognizing that social, emotional, intellectual, creative, and physical skills are all fundamental to a child’s learning. This aligns with Little Wonders’ philosophy of developing programs that build up these areas, helping each child grow into their full potential. Little Wonders mirrors the Flight Framework by creating a safe and thrilling environment where children are encouraged to cooperate, make decisions, solve problems, and learn independently.
Another key area of alignment is the individualized approach to learning at Little Wonders. We encourage educators to observe children’s interests and design beginning learning experiences based on their unique needs. This commitment to recognizing each child as unique ensures that their personal needs and skills are supported, fostering a sense of belonging and meeting their individual learning needs.
At Little Wonders, interactions between staff, children, and families are built on respect, trust, and fairness, which aligns with the Flight Framework’s focus on relationships as the foundation of learning. To further illustrate the cooperative nature of the Flight Framework, ongoing interaction between families and educators promises that children’s learning is supported at home and in the center.
In summary, the alignment of Little Wonders Child Development Centre’s philosophy with Alberta’s Flight Framework transforms into Play and playfulness, participating, caring, persisting and seeking, as both are centered on fostering holistic development, diversity, and positive relationships through play-based, flexible, and inclusive learning environments.
