What safety measures are in place?
The safety of our children is our top priority. We conduct regular safety drills, have secure entry systems, and all staff are trained in CPR and first aid.
What is your curriculum like?
We are on Flight, a program specially developed by MacEwan University and Govt. of Alberta for Alberta. Our curriculum focuses on holistic development through play-based learning. We incorporate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
How do you handle food and allergies?
We are NUT free zone. We provide nutritious meals and snacks each day. We ask Parents to inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions in our registration form, and we accommodate those needs accordingly.
Safety Precautions During Outbreaks
If there is any outbreak, the health and safety of our children and staff is our top priority. To ensure a safe environment, we have implemented enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the facility.
- Daily Carpet Cleaning: We wash our carpets every day during outbreak (we have our own carpet cleaner) to reduce the risk of germs and allergens. This thorough cleaning helps maintain a healthy indoor environment for the children. We wash our carpets every Friday in one room in general so every room carpet washed once a month.
- Increased Cleaning Frequency: We’ve ramped up our cleaning schedule to disinfect cubbies, tables, chairs, and other high-touch surfaces every two hours instead of the usual once a day during outbreaks. This includes using hospital-grade disinfectants to ensure a thorough cleanse.
- Regular Mopping: Our staff mops floors more frequently to prevent the spread of germs, especially in high-traffic areas instead of twice a day during general days.
- Hand Hygiene: We encourage frequent handwashing for both children and staff, and we have hand sanitizers readily available throughout the facility.
- Health Monitoring: We conduct daily health checks for children and staff to monitor for any symptoms related to illness.

How Long Will My Child Need to Stay Away from Daycare if my child is Sick?
If your child is feeling unwell, we kindly ask that they stay home for a minimum of 24 hours after their fever or other symptoms have resolved. In some instances, if a doctor has prescribed antibiotics and your child is feeling better, child may be able to return to daycare sooner with prescribed and Dr. labeled drugs to administrate in daycare. This helps ensure the health and safety of all children and staff.
What holidays does the daycare observe?
We are closed on all State holidays, including Truth and Reconciliation Day. We are closed during the last week of July and reopen on the first Tuesday of August after a long weekend for summer break. We are also closed from Dec 23 till Jan 02 of next year for winter break; however, if Jan 03 is Friday, we will reopen on Monday.
