Kinder and OSC (Kinder to Grade 6)

The Kinder & OSC room, a vibrant and engaging space tailored for early elementary-aged children, plays a pivotal role in fostering their early childhood development. This dynamic environment, designed for learning through play, is adorned with bright colours and imaginative decor, creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages self-expression and peer interaction.

One of the standout features of this room is the collection of large wooden blocks. These blocks provide endless building and construction opportunities and serve as a hands-on tool for teaching basic math concepts. As children stack, balance, and design structures, they learn about shapes, sizes, and spatial relationships, laying a foundation for future mathematical understanding.

The room also includes a dramatic play area where children can engage in pretend play. This space allows them to act out various roles and scenarios, enhancing their social skills and creativity. Through dramatic play, children practice cooperation and communication as they engage in parallel play with peers while negotiating roles and sharing ideas.

The Kinder & OSC room, in addition to fostering social skills, integrates elements of science and math into play activities. Whether it’s conducting simple experiments in a science corner or measuring ingredients in a pretend kitchen, children are learning important concepts while having fun. This hands-on approach not only makes learning enjoyable but also helps solidify foundational knowledge in a natural and engaging way. Ultimately, the Kinder & OSC room provides a comprehensive learning environment that nurtures curiosity and supports the holistic development of early elementary-aged children.

Outside, the largest outdoor play area offers ample space for running, climbing, and playing games. This encourages physical activity and social interaction as children engage in pretend and parallel play, allowing them to develop cooperation and communication skills.
